Niti Pattanapakdee, chief media officer of Major CineAd, said yesterday the growth was partly due to the expansion of new theatres under the management of its parent company, Major Cineplex Group.
Niti declined to predict a turnaround in cinema advertisement this year but expected his company to post a 10 to 15 per cent growth in revenue this year, mainly from a hike in advertising rates and blockbuster movies lined up for the big screen this year. Major CineAds will raise its advertising rates by 10 to 15 per cent, depending on the location of the cinemas.
A number of box-office hits are lined up for this year, including “Avengers: Age of Ultron”, Jurassic World”, “Terminator Genisys”, “Furious 7”, “ Mission Impossible 5”, “Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens”, “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay-Part 2”, “Spectre” (James Bond series), “Cinderella” and “The Divergent Series: Insurgent”.
With these blockbusters on the way, the number of movie-goers will rise while advertisers and product-owners have more chances to interact with the audiences as well as through the company’s related marketing events, Niti added.
Major CineAd will also install new digital screens at cinemas to create more windows for communication between clients and movie-goers.
