MVTV (Thailand), a local satellite TV operator, will lease 40 per cent of total air time at Loca, a terrestrial-based digital channel for children’s programming run by Thai TV.
Pantipa Sakulchai, president of Thai TV, which also operates another digital channels under its own name, said yesterday that to manage the high operating costs of its two channels, her company had decided to team up with MVTV (Thailand) for content development.
MVTV, which currently runs five satellite channels – Five, Mix Major, Asian Major, Modern India and Dragon TV – will provide dramas, movies, and Chinese cartoons for Loca.
After this change, the channel will be renamed “MVTV” to build the confidence of advertisers that had anticipated low ratings for Loca.
