Singha Estate adopts 'synergy partnership' model

Singha Estate has set aside an investment budget of Bt20 billion for this year under a "synergy partnership" model.

Chief investment officer Longlom Bunnag told a news conference yesterday that the investment budget would be enough if things went according to plan.

"This year, we also aim to secure two or three more partners, which will help the company generate profit," he said.

He added that Singha Estate’s synergy partnership model of jointly investing with other companies would increase its capacity to compete without having to acquire or merge with other businesses fully.

It has set short-term (one to three years), medium-term (three to five years), and long-term (six to 10 years) goals for this model. It is confident that it has sufficient funds and human resources to develop real-estate projects efficiently alongside other companies that share its business mission, vision, and core values.

"We plan to invest in real-estate projects both locally and internationally," Longlom said. "In Thailand, we will invest in hotels in major travel destinations in the Southern region, such as Phuket, Krabi, and Phang Nga.

"Singha Estate aims for its investments to take a quantum leap, and synergy partnership will contribute to 80-90 per cent of our investment portfolio. We will hold 50 per cent of the shares or more. However, we are looking for businesses with upside potential, and our investment will follow good-governance principles, for the benefit of our partners, our company, and our shareholders."
