Exim Thailand in ‘proactive role’
The Export-Import Bank of Thailand will enhance its proactive role in assisting businesses, small and medium-sized enterprises in particular, in leveraging on trade and investment opportunities arising in the advent of the Asean Economic Community by the end of this year, said Dr Naris Chaiyasoot, the bank’s chairman of the board.
Exim Thailand will also take advantage of its status as a state-owned specialised financial institution (SFI) to work in collaboration with public and private agencies to drive Thailand’s long-term economic growth.
The bank is looking for a qualified person to serve as a president who could lead it in such a direction.
Naris said applicants for the job of president must illustrate their vision and strategic thinking on the bank’s development and management directions during a four-year tenure.
Applicants are required to demonstrate how they would enhance Exim Thailand’s proactive role in realising its vision and mission to create opportunities for enterprises wishing to start up or expand their business in the international trade and investment arena.
Candidates will also be required to share their vision on how to ensure the bank’s stability, sound management, high standards of banking practices and more efficient use of resources. They should show how Exim Thailand as an SFI could help the general public gain better access to financial resources, and in essence how the bank could best perform its role in enhancing exports, imports and overseas investment capabilities.
