EmQuartier, which opened just two months ago, and the refreshed Emporium, part of the growing EM District, have received overwhelmingly positive feedback from foreign visitors, Thais and the foreign press, The Emporium Group Co said yesterday.

And once the EM District, including the Bhiraj Tower office zone, is fully open, customers are expected to increase from 150,000 currently to 200,000 per day, said Supaluck Umpujh, vice chairwoman of The Mall Group Co and chairwoman of The Emporium Group, the management company for the properties.

About 30 per cent of shoppers are foreigners, mainly from China, Japan and South Korea.

The group is preparing to stage “The World Extraordinaire” to celebrate the success of the EM District with the first-ever 3D mapping performance projecting images onto the Emporium and EmQuartier facades.

The audio-visual performance will be the most spectacular in Southeast Asia. It will run from Fridays to Mondays.

Besides lights and sounds throughout the interconnected shopping complexes, there will be plenty of attractions such as balloons, aerial acrobatics, fireworks and street performances.
