GHC Asia enters strategic alliance with TQPR

GHC Asia, a leading regional public relations network specialising in the luxury lifestyle sector, has entered into a strategic alliance with TQPR, a Bangkok-based PR company.

The alliance follows the 60 per cent acquisition of GHC Asia by the Hakuhodo Group, one of the world’s top ten advertising and marketing groups, and is part of GHC Asia’s strategy to expand its regional offering. TQPR's operations now cover Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, as well as Myanmar.
“We did already have our own small presence in Bangkok, but we feel that the new strategic alliance will better enable us to more rapidly and significantly beef up our ability to serve clients in the Southeast Asian region,” said Paul Hicks, CEO of GHC Asia.
“We also see great synergies between the two businesses. TQPR has strength and expertise in some of the areas we already operate in, like travel and tourism, hospitality and aviation, while also adding new areas of expertise which we are trying to expand further into, such as automotive.”
Under the alliance, TQPR will service GHC Asia’s existing regional clients in Thailand, while the two companies will jointly seek opportunities to develop new business together.
With hotels, resorts, luxury brands, high-end restaurants and the national tourism organisations of various countries as its main clients, GHC Asia specialises in communications around products and services aimed at higher-income consumers.
Since its foundation in Hong Kong, GHC Asia has opened offices in Shanghai and Singapore in 2006, Beijing in 2009 and Bangkok in 2010 prior to Chengdu in 2015, growing in tandem with the expansion of Asia's wealthy class.
