BOT governor asked to join "orchestra" Board of Trade chairman Isara Vongkusolkit told the audience attending the Thailand Management Association conference last week that he had asked Prasarn Trairatvorakul, the Bank of Thailand governor, to join in

“If Thailand changes its conductors often, we [the private sector] can bring up the notes and they can play at least 80 per cent [of our tunes],” Isara said. “I said to the governor that after he retires he could come in to play the same notes.”
The term “conductor” was coined by Tevin Vongvanich, chief executive of PTT Exploration and Production, apparently in reference to the country’s political leaders. Tevin was on the same panel as Isara at the conference. We cannot confirm if Isara meant he would like Prasarn to join the Cabinet after his retirement at the end of September.
