Raja Ferry Port plans IPO

Raja Ferry Port on July 14 submitted a request to the Securities Exchange Commission to raise capital via an initial public offering of 38 million shares at Bt1 par value on the Market for Alternative Investment (MAI).

The capital increase would boost the company’s competitiveness in the marine-transport business and raise its service standards to international levels.
Raja Ferry Port has registered capital of Bt170 million (Bt132 million in paid-up capital). The company will set the IPO price after receiving approval from the SEC. After the capital increase, the company plans to buy new, faster, safer ferries, to expand business operations, and to employ working capital as part of its preparations for the Asean Economic Community.
Last year, Raja Ferry Port generated Bt665 million in sales and service revenue, and posted an operating profit of Bt85 million. Sales and service revenue in the first quarter of 2015 was Bt156 million and in operating profit Bt29 million.

MAI to list Daii Group today
The Market for Alternative Investment (MAI) will list Daii Group, a finished-fence producer and home builder, today under the ticker symbol “DAII”. The company had a market capitalisation at its initial public offering of Bt520 million.
MAI president Prapan Charoenprawatt said DAII would list in the Property & Construction industry group.
The company and its subsidiaries have been manufacturers and distributors of finished fences for more than 20 years under the brands Fenzer and Nuevo, which have been well received among leading property developers and retail customers. It is also a builder of semi-finished and fully finished homes under the Qsaf Diamond and Ginza Home brands, as well as a supplier of aluminium doors and windows under the Atech brand.
DAII has paid-up registered capital of Bt130 million, consisting of 100 million existing common shares and 30 million newly issued shares, with a par value of Bt1 each. The company offered newly issued shares to the general public via IPO from July 15-17 at Bt4 each, for a total of Bt120 million. Maybank Kim Eng Securities (Thailand) was its financial adviser and underwriter.
DAII managing director Thawat Meeprasertsakul said this listing would enhance the company’s image and strengthen its financial capabilities, as well as expand its leading position in the finished-fence market nationwide and help reduce construction costs to serve wider target groups. The funds raised will be used to set up a second home-builder showroom and a second finished-home factory for Ginza, to build a finished-fence factory and sales office in Rayong province, and for debt repayment.

Loans for Net start-ups
Singapore state investment firm Temasek Holdings has tied up with United Overseas Bank to offer up to US$500 million (Bt17.3 billion) in venture debt loans over the next five years to Internet start-ups in China, India and Southeast Asia.
Together, the potential market size for venture debt in the three regions is some $2.2 billion, UOB said.
Temasek and UOB will each commit up to $100 million of paid-up capital to the joint venture InnoVen Capital, which will be based in Singapore.
Upon regulatory approval of the deal, Temasek and UOB will each hold a 50-per-cent stake in InnoVen, which will have an issued and paid-up capital of $60 million.
In April, Temasek made its first step towards building what it called a “pan-Asian venture lending platform” by acquiring the Mumbai-based venture debt unit of SVB Financial Group and renaming it InnoVen Capital India.
InnoVen plans to establish subsidiaries in Singapore and China in the coming months. From these offices, InnoVen will offer loans to venture-capital-backed start-ups in sectors such as technology, consumer, healthcare, and clean technology that have at least gone through a Series A funding round, UOB said. – The Straits Times/ANN
