TOT board to discuss business partnerships
The TOT board will discuss today selecting potential business partners.
Of the five companies that have proposed business partnerships, the state agency is expected to pick Advanced Info Service to talk with first.
TOT holds AIS’s current telecom concession, and the company has proposed joining with the agency to develop TOT’s third-generation cellular service. It would set up a joint venture with TOT to manage the telecommunication towers it uses under the concession as part of a settlement of their dispute over their ownership.
The other four companies proposing to be TOT partners are True Corp, Loxley, Samart Corp and Mobile LTE.

Sammakorn cuts presale forecast
Property firm Sammakorn now expects presales of Bt1.1 billion this year, down from Bt1.3 billion forecast earlier, but still anticipates revenue of Bt1.8 billion, managing director Kittipol Pramoj Na Ayudhya said.
The company trimmed its presale target when its potential customers faced a mortgage-rejection rate at the commercial banks of 23 per cent, up from only 8 per cent last year, he said.
Condo expo starts Friday
Bangkok Citismart, a property agency, has invested more than Bt10 million to hold its first condominium fair, “Citi Condo Expo by BC”, to cash in on the rising demand for condos in the newly expanded urban areas in Bangkok, said general manager Kayon Tantichatiwat.
The company expects purchases valued at more than Bt500 million at the event.
The fair will be held from Friday to Sunday at Fashion Hall on the first floor of Siam Paragon. There will be more than 100 projects and 2,000 condo units in Bangkok featured at the event, he said.
Free bus, train rides extended
The Cabinet yesterday approved a three-month extension of free bus and train rides, until October 31, Transport Minister Prajin Juntong said.
The extension of the programme, originally to expire at the end of this month, was proposed by the Transport Ministry to help reduce people’s cost of living, he said.
It was reported that this was the scheme’s last renewal and that from November 1 onwards the state transport agencies would find other, more focused measures to save money while helping those truly in need.
Prajin earlier said his ministry was looking into lowering public bus fares after the diesel price dropped by another 40 satang per litre. The outcome of this analysis should be known in two weeks on whether the bus fares of Transport Co and private companies with trans-provincial bus-service concessions will be lower.
