Nualphan Lamsam, |president and chief executive of Muang Thai Insurance, found herself in rather an interesting situation recently.
Last week, a BMW driver hit her car while she was |in it.
Nualphan thought it would be the perfect time to hit the other driver’s insurance company with a claim.
She told her secretary to negotiate with the BMW driver and sort out his insurance details.
Nualphan had calculated the amount of the claim, when her secretary informed her that the other driver’s insurance company was Muang Thai Insurance.
That meant her com-pany would have to shoulder her claim as well as the claim of the BMW driver, and it would doubtless have an impact, however slight, on her company’s loss ratio.
But she thought the incident highlighted a good point – that the owners of luxury cars are customers of her company.
