PUSH FOR SEZ INVESTORS

The Special Economic Zones Committee will be transformed into a body to promote foreign and domestic investment in the clusters and border SEZs that are being created by the government, with a task to lure foreign investors and encourage domestic businesses to invest now.
Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak said the Bt350 billion worth of economic stimulus measures to support low-income earners, SMEs and the real-estate sector introduced since August were beginning to have an effect on domestic consumption. The next step under his plan is to encourage more private investment to maintain the momentum of the economic recovery.
