New fund to boost GDP The Bt35-billion budget for the national village and urban community development fund should add a 0.15-percentage-point fillip to economic growth this year, according to the Fiscal Policy Office.
Krisda Chinavicharana, director-general of the FPO and spokesman for the Finance Ministry, said yesterday that the fund would also not replicate the Bt5-million budget allocated to each tambon.
“Each community or village should hurry and propose its project. If a project is proposed first, it will be approved first,” he said.
Mission to Iran, Oman
Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak will lead a delegation of the country's economic teams, such as those from the Commerce and Industry ministries, to Iran and Oman from Sunday to Wednesday next week, with the aim of promoting trade and investment between Thailand and those two countries.
Thailand and Iran will sign an agreement to promote bilateral economic and trade collaboration.
