The Securities and Exchange Commission is seeking public comments on draft rules concerning guidelines for post-offering disclosure of information to be imposed specifically on property funds, infrastructure funds, infrastructure trusts and real estate investment trusts (REITs).
The proposed rules would require regular disclosure of annual registration statements, annual reports, and financial statements as well as significant events after offering for sale the aforesaid financial instruments, and would prescribe the holding of annual meetings in a similar way as required of listed companies.
This is to ensure that investors will |be provided up-to-date, complete and sufficient information for decision-making in line with the globally recognised standards of the International Organisation of Securities Commissions.
