Bid for double-digit growth
GCH Retail (Malaysia), the owner of Giant, hopes to secure double-digit revenue growth this year following the hypermarket and retailer chain’s renewed and improved customer shopping experience.
General merchandising director Lee Siew Mei said about 50 per cent of the growth would be mainly contributed by a dedicated baby promotional fair, attracting mothers aged 35 and above.
“We introduced a one-stop centre last year to enable mothers to buy baby products such as diapers, powdered milk, toiletries and clothes and the response was encouraging,” she told Bernama.
“We are also working closely with suppliers to come out with exclusive items to complement their products.
For instance, if a mother purchases a powdered milk product above 50 ringgit (Bt432) in a single receipt, she is entitled to get free baby food,” she said. – The Star
