Berli Jucker set to offer country’s largest debenture issuance

Thai conglomerate Berli Jucker (BJC) has completed the book building for what will be the country’s largest ever debenture issuance in a single transaction.

The three, five, seven and 10-year debentures are worth Bt54 billion.
BJC will use the debenture proceeds to refinance the bridging loans used in the acquisition of Big C Supercenter.
The coupon rates for the three, five, seven and 10 years are 2.34 per cent, 2.69 per cent, 3.07 per cent and 3.80 per cent per annum while the volume weighted average cost is 2.98 per cent.
The debentures have been assigned an A+ rating (stable outlook) by TRIS Rating, a local credit-rating agency.
The joint-lead organisers of the transaction are Bangkok Bank, Kasikornbank, Krung Thai Bank, Siam Commercial Bank and Phatra Securities.
Due to the response by institutional and high net-worth investors to the issuance, BJC exercised the green shoe option and increase the value from Bt50 billion to Bt54 billion.
