Entrepreneurs honoured at awards night
Nine entrepreneurs were recognised for their entrepreneurial excellence during the Entrepreneur Now Awards 2017 (ENA) organised by BNOW.org, a social enterprise focused on supporting entrepreneurs in the startup and small and medium-sized enterprise eco-system.
The award winners included Armelle Le Bihan from Green Building Consulting & Engineering (eco entrepreneur and creative entrepreneur); Frederick Besson from Perfumist (innovative entrepreneur); and Peter Wainman from Equator Pure Nature (social enterprise entrepreneur).
The other winner included Kongkiat Kespechara from Sooksatharana (most entrepreneurial team); Remi Ducrocq from Kyklo (50 employees to 100); Anawach Kimhasawad from OneStock Home (best newcomer); and Pirachai Bencharongkul from Boomphaw (outstanding entrepreneur).
Salinee Wangtal, director of the Office of Small Medium Enterprises Promotion (OSMEP), said entrepreneurs must continue to challenge themselves and take risks in their businesses.
She said she was pleased to see entrepreneurs in Thailand combine creativity and innovation in their products and services that were on par with international standards.
She said OSMEP was providing support to all entrepreneurs and SMEs in the area of ecommerce, packaging and promotion.
This year marked the second year the awards were held.
More 100 Thai and non-Thai entrepreneurs submitted presentations for the awards, representing a wide range of industries including tech, food and beverage, health, travel and construction.
They completed an application form and submitted a three-minute video about themselves and their company.
Thirty were shortlisted and invited to a networking evening where they had the opportunity to meet with the judges and promote their companies.
Entries were judged on uniqueness, vision and potential growth, value in Thailand and Asean, eco-sustainability, striking achievements, overcoming challenges and recognition and traction.
