Central Pattana (CPN) and Thai Beverage are joining with Singha Corp and M2F to invest Bt70 million in a Thailand Songkran 2017 promotion as well as support a “Tourism 4.0” policy and create a “Centre of Life” for the Songkran festival.
Participants can enjoy a digital ping-pong pool, water-gun laser war, LED water tunnel and high pressure hydro-tower as well as events such as a foam party, concerts from popular artists and fashion shows. The fun and safe activities are focused on helping to conserve Thai culture and Thailand’s image and will be accompanied by a number of promotions and gifts that will be available from
April 10-19 at CentralWorld, CentralPlaza and CentralFestival.
Pakorn Partanapat, chief operating officer of CPN, said: “The Songkran festival has been recognised by many as an international festival and is mentioned around the world. The number of tourists visiting Thailand during the Songkran festival period increases every year and this is the peak season of the year.
“The total number of flights within the country has increased 10 per cent from last year and this will help to create a bright economy for 2017 and generate over Bt10 billion in cash revenues for Thailand, reflecting confidence from both consumers and tourists alike.
“The festive vibe will encourage people to come out and participate in the water-splashing activities and to enjoy shopping, eating and buying souvenirs. This is also the best opportunity for family reunions and bringing all people together.
“CPN’s shopping centres, the centre of life of the all generations, will host Songkran festival events in order to celebrate the famous tradition, to support people’s engagement and to continue culture in a contemporary style.
"We expect customers who visit our shopping centers to receive the highest satisfaction on services, cleanliness, safety measures and the events.
“We hope that everyone goes home happy, which will create the urge to share or send positive messages, supporting Thai tourism among the new generation and tourists, and helping to conserve and continue the culture of which we are so proud.
“The campaign is expected to boost customer traffic at the shopping centers by 20 per cent and will certainly help to increase the happiness of customers and tourists 100 per cent.”
