Siam City Cement collaborates with NIIT Technologies on IT infrastructure

Siam City Cement has partnered with NIIT Technologies, a global IT-solutions organisation, for building its future-ready information-technology infrastructure. Supporting the digital transformation for SCCC, NIIT Technologies has designed, has delivered and is operating its private and public cloud infrastructure.

SCCC’s digital journey driven by INSEE Digital, its IT subsidiary, started with the INSEE Smart programme. The programme focused on deploying Asia’s first-of-its kind SAP S4 HANA hybrid cloud IT infrastructure – the INSEE Digital Cloud Data Centre.
The future-ready cloud IT infrastructure delivered in a record time of six months enabled SCCC to adopt new business models, and rapidly deploy other digital technologies. Backed by this scalable hybrid cloud infrastructure, SCCC says it successfully integrated its newly acquired subsidiary in Bangladesh, and is currently integrating Sri Lanka and Vietnam in a cost-effective manner.
Ittaya Sirivasukarn, chief executive of INSEE Digital, said: “Digital brings opportunity and change for businesses, enabling their transformation. The use of digital technologies such as cloud can help create new services and business models to enable growth and geo expansion. We realised this and collaborated with NIIT Technologies to establish IT infrastructure at SCCC and its group companies, which is reliable, secure and scalable to meet SCCC’s strategic business needs.”
Commenting on the partnership, Anoop Raja, Asia head at NIIT Technologies, said: “As a strategic focus for our company, we help our clients rapidly scale their digital initiatives with our cloud capability and capacity. We are very proud and happy that our association with Siam City Cement is helping them realise benefits faster in their journey.”
Future-ready IT infrastructure developed by INSEE Digital is acting as the backbone infrastructure for the digital initiative at SCCC. The company says it is now poised to leverage Internet of Things technology in fleet and fuel management and is in discussion with NIIT Technologies on the feasibility of deploying robotic IT operations.
