Copenhagen Airport operates normally as police investigate fresh security threats

Danish police investigate renewed threats targeting air traffic at Copenhagen Airport, saying passengers are not in danger as the airport continues normal operations.

Danish police are investigating renewed threats targeting air traffic at Copenhagen Airport, but their initial assessment found no danger to passengers or other people at the airport.

Police said on Friday (November 6) that officers had returned to Denmark's largest airport following the latest reports and were maintaining a visible presence while investigating the incident.

"We are once again at Copenhagen Airport today in connection with threats directed at air traffic," Copenhagen Police said in a statement.

"We are now investigating the incident and have a visible presence at the airport," they added, without providing further details.

Copenhagen Airport confirmed the police deployment in a written statement, saying operations were continuing normally. An airport spokesperson declined to comment further.

Previous threats prompted aircraft searches

The latest incident followed a security alert on Thursday (November 5), when a military bomb disposal unit searched two aircraft at Copenhagen Airport after a threat was reported.

No explosive devices were found during the inspections.

The incidents come amid a series of bomb threats affecting passenger flights across Europe in recent days, forcing aircraft to make unscheduled landings, undergo security inspections and, in some cases, receive fighter-jet escorts.

Despite the disruption, no explosives have been discovered in the reported cases so far.
