HomePro sees 20-per-cent rise in net profit

Home Products Centre (HomePro) has reported first-quarter revenues of Bt15.2 billion, up 4.6 per cent from the same period last year.
Net profit during the period was Bt1.04 billion, surging by 20 per cent.
Managing director Khunavuth Thamphromkul credited the growth to the opening of HomePro and Megahome branches in Thailand and a HomePro outlet in Malaysia.
He noted that, despite improvement in some economic indices during the first quarter, there is still no clear sign of recovery in consumer purchasing power.
“We are concentrating on the efficiency of each business unit, such as by increasing the ratio of direct-sourcing products, achieving better pricing and improving product quality, as well as purchasing planning,” Khunavuth said.
