NMG ON RECOVERY PATH
Nation Multimedia Group (NMG) expects to begin a turnaround this year after an organisational restructuring that sharply boosted online media operations and puts the group on track for a recovery within three years, chairman Thepchai Yong said yesterday.
Thepchai told the annual shareholders meeting that the expansion into digital services was at the heart of the restructuring and has seen the group devote greater resources to online services, including information, the zogzag77 navigation application and online news. The revamp also included cost cuts.
With the range of its media outlets and skilled staff, NMG's new media is expected to lead in the onlne media sector, while the TV business helps support other areas, such as promotions for NOW@Siam Studio, Thepchai said.
In 2016, NMG had a net loss of Bt1.1 billion.
