ACCOUNTING SOFTWARE BEING DEVELOPED FOR SMES

The Commerce Ministry’s Business Development Department has joined forces with five agencies to develop accounting software to help small and medium-sized enterprises keep their books in order efficiently.
The department yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding with the Federation of Accounting Professions, the Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion, the faculty of commerce and accountancy of Chulalongkorn University, Crystal Software Group, and Internet Thailand to develop an accounting-software system for SMEs.
Bangjongjitt Angsusinh, director-general of the department, said the new program would keep track of points of sale and link with the department’s filing system.
The program should be able to work on personal computers, smartphones and tablets with INET cloud technology, and be able to work both online and offline.
