Mobile operator dtac lets users buy more data on YouTube

Mobile operator dtac has introduce a feature that gives customers the option to buy data add-on on YouTube, to aid the video streaming experience.
Customers can buy data add-on for YouTube when they are running out of data without having to leave the application. dtac is the first digital service provider in Thailand to offer users the option to top-up their data from within the YouTube app, giving customers seamless and unlimited YouTube experience. YouTube data add-on packages, starting from Bt15, are available now for Android users and soon for iOS users.
Sitthichoke Nopchinabutr, chief marketing officer for Total Access Communication or dtac, said: “The buy data option on YouTube is one of the services introduced by dtac as part of the Flip It concept to make customer experience simple and straightforward. I am confident that this buy data feature serves the needs of video streaming users, together with Go No Limit packages that offer smooth and unlimited YouTube video streaming service at maximum speed. dtac has continuously collaborated with global partners to create new services and deliver unlimited digital experience to customers.”
Based on statistics, half of YouTube usage is on mobile devices with rapid growth in data usage. “The introduction of this buy data feature gives customers more control of their data usage. The buy data menu is shown below the playing video and on the user’s settings menu,” the company said.
“To give customers a taste of this new experience, dtac offers free data for YouTube to customers who apply for the special privilege via the buy data menu on their YouTube profile page every Friday throughout July 2017 or by clicking on the link received via other media channels, such as SMS, LINE official account, or Facebook.”
