WORKFORCE STRATEGY

The Cabinet yesterday approved the five-year workforce development strategy for the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), starting from this year to 2021 with a budget of Bt619.4 million, said Kobsak Pootrakool, vice minister at the Office of the Prime Minister.

About 20,000 persons are expected to be trained this year with the figure reaching 48,500 in 2021.
Meanwhile, the Cabinet also agreed on the regulations for the setup of a state enterprise board, including determination of qualifications, control of conflicts of interests and prohibition of appointment of politicians, political officials or former civil savants as directors, Kobsak added.
The regulatory framework for establishing a state enterprise board will be enforced on the 20 state enterprises this month.
