Exhibition teaches Thai youth about money

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) is promoting knowledge about saving money and financial planning among young people via its annual “Investory Mobile Exhibition on School” project.

This is the second edition of the project following its successful launch last year.
SET president Kesara Manchusree said on Monday that the aim was to take the roadshow to 15 schools and reach 40,000 students in Bangkok and its vicinity.
The project comprises an exhibition, fun activities and knowledge-based simulations from SET’s Investory Investment Discovery Museum.
Meanwhile, a joint survey conducted by Investory and Suan Dusit Poll has delved into the spending behaviour of secondary school students aged 11-19.
Of 300 respondents, over 30 per cent said they were interested in part-time jobs after school hours for extra money, and more than 40 per cent said they had saved money regularly.
The outcome reflected the fact that today’s youth were placing more and more importance on savings and financial planning, a spokesperson said.
