General manager Paul Manatthaworn said on Monday the alliance would “revolutionise music-listening from analog to digital streaming”.
People in Myanmar would also be able to download music from BEC-Tero Music, Sony Music, YG Entertainment, JYP Entertainment and Avex Group through the Ooredoo mobile network, he said.
Paul said Myanmar’s economic expansion and people’s rising purchasing power had opened “significant potential growth”.
“The cooperation between BEC-Tero Music and IMIMobile opens the new chapter of digital-content marketing in Myanmar,” he said.
“We believe that the key strength of BEC-Tero Music in music digital content covering international, Asian and Thai music, coupled with the potential of Myanmar and the strong presence of local partner, will expand our customer base to Myanmar while enhancing the digital-content business in terms of acceptance and growth, repeating our success in Cambodia.
“In the future, we plan to join hands with other new partners in Myanmar to cater to the rising trend of digital-music listening among the younger generation.”
