
OSMEP director-general Salinee Wangtan said the GDP growth was lower than the 5 per cent growth recorded in the first quarter because sectors such as construction and industry did not grow as much in comparison.
However, she said the OSMEP has maintain its GDP growth forecast at 5 per cent this year in line with forecast strong economic growth of 3.7 per cent in 2017.
The National Economic and Social Development Board made the 3.7 per cent growth forecast on August 21.
