Tax vote coming for first home value above Bt20million

Thailand’s Deputy Finance Minister expects a draft bill on land and building taxes to be finalised this November after most members of a National Legislative Assembly committee vote to increase taxes on first homes priced above Bt20 million.

Wisudhi Srisuphan, deputy minister for finance, said that most NLA committee members have agreed to reduce the tax-free ceiling on first homes with an appraised value to Bt20 million.
An earlier proposal was to levy taxes against first homes starting at the Bt50million point, with taxes waived for the value of the home below Bt50 million.
