HandiGo new mobile app aims to promote tourism 4.0

Sakdidet Poolsawad, CEO and co-founder of the application “HandiGo” said that tourism has been playing an important role in spreading income to different regions of Thailand and creating jobs for locals.

The industry brought around Bt2.51 billion into the country in 2016, and tourism continues to increase in importance. Though government has created awareness about travelling in Thailand internationally, unethical business owners have taken advantage of this opportunity by charging a higher price for goods and services to tourists who assume that they have no choice, said Sakdidet. When tourists share their bad experiences online, it affects local tourism and good business owners as a whole and results in a potential decrease in the numbers of tourists.
HandiGo is an application created to help tourists get the full hotel experience and access goods and services from tourist attractions all around the country. To create a fully integrated tourism service, HandiGo has collaborated with partners such as hotels and accommodations, restaurants, tour guides, and transportation businesses, according to a press release from the company.
When tourists chose to stay with hotels that has HandiGo QR code, they get access to facilities like spa treatments, restaurants, room services, tour bookings or taxi bookings. Services will be charged at a normal rate and no extra charge from using the application.
HandiGo has a flexible system, allowing business owners to add and customise their functions on demand as well as being available in languages from all over the world. HandiGo’s network spans over 10,000 rooms, partnered restaurants and transportation in major cities such as Bangkok, Surat Thani, Krabi, Hua Hin, Pattaya and Chiang Mai, according to the release.
