GSB aims for 80 SME centres nationwide

Government Savings Bank plans to increase the number of its centres for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to as many as 80 nationwide as part its stepped-up support for smaller enterprises, the bank’s president Chatchai Payuhanaveechai said yesterday.

The bank has 18 such centres across the country.

The announcement follow the bank’s success in conducting the First Smart SMEs Smart Start Up event from December 1-3. It provided new loans for SMEs and also for joint venture deals worth up to Bt1 billion. More than 5,000 visitors came over the three days.
“The bank set up the provision of loans for SMEs and start-ups worth Bt10 billion and now some Bt3 billion has been approved,” Chatchai said.
