DELL EMC aims high with launch of HCI products

DELL EMC launched two hyper-converged infrastructure products (HCI), VxRail and XC Series, to help businesses achieve cost-effective digital transformation in Thailand.

According to International Data Corporation (IDC), the HCI market has the fast growth in the technology sector. 
The global market is estimated to be worth US$4 billion this year, with expectations it will reach US$7.6 billion in 2021.
With the combination of server, storage, and network capability into an appliance, this would help ensure that HCI products are in highy demand across business sectors in the era of digital transformation. 
Anothai Wettayakorn, vice president Dell EMC Indochina, said the HCI market was important for Dell EMC and that that it would focus its investment to boost the technology’s adoption in Thailand and the region. 
The two new flagship HCI products will help Dell EMC to penetrate deeper into markets across industry sectors.
The Dell EMC VxRail and Dell EMC XC Series mark a major change for Dell EMC and they will run on the Dell EMC PowerEdge 14th generation server.
After Dell EMC’s launch of HCI products four years ago, Anothai said that in the second quarter this year, Dell EMC has 29 per cent of market share for the leading place in the global HCI market. 
HCI products contribute 25 per cent to Dell EMC’s converged platform business.
“HCI is one of the big technology trends that business and even governmental and public organizations will invest in,” Anothai said.

Solutions provider 
“We have customers in almost all sectors including telco, banking, healthcare, manufacturing, agriculture, oil and gas, education, government, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). We position ourselves as digital solutions provider to help business to do digital transformation.”
He said HCI is now moving into mainstream applications and its take-up is increasing among companies of all sizes and types.
“It is a key technology trend that businesses are spending huge money on,” he said.
“We pay key attention to both investment and resources in driving HCI products, especially these two flagship products of Dell EMC, into all market segment and all target customers.”
