  TMB sees high growth in digital banking customers

TMB is aiming for 20 per cent more customers for its ME by TMB service after witnessing a growth of 63 per cent over the past six years. 

Over 80 per cent of the new customers are new generation consumers , ranging from teenagers to working people.
Mingkwan Pattanawong, head of Retail Marketing of TMB and ME by TMB, said the number of new clients of ME increased 21 per cent last year from the previous year and grew an average of 63 per cent over the past 6 years, while the amount of ME deposits recorded a growth rate of 41 per cent. The number of ME clients accounts were 5 per cent of TMB's total retail portfolio.
"Based on the growth of ME, we found that over 80 per cent of our customers are new generation people ranging from teenagers to working people between 18-46 years old," she said.
This shows that bank's customers include working people from Gen X, young people from Gen Y and Gen M. These people are always open to new things, they use internet for fast and convenient service which can save time.
The proportion of customers in Bangkok and its vicinities are 73 per cent and 27 per cent while the average deposit amount is around Bt150,000 per account, which means they are quality retail customers with good attitude in saving money, said Mingkwan.
