SCB Easy app offers fee-free transactions
With its “SCB Easy Freenomenon” campaign, SCB claims it is the first bank to cancel fees for the five most popular types of financial transactions via its app.
These are money transfers across clearing zones; ral-time interbank transfers; top-ups; bill payments; and cardless cash withdrawals across clearing zones. The fee cancellation promotion has been in effect since Monday.
The bank said its “Manee” character will be used in a campaign to communicate a message of “friendliness, cheerfulness and simplicity”.
A bank press release said: “SCB Easy aims to become a platform that connects all societies together and to comprehensively respond to consumers’ financial lifestyles.”
SCB said it was s confident that the number of SCB Easy app downloads and users would “soar past” 10 million before the end of this year. The app is expected to help push Thailand towards the cashless society.
Tana Pothikamjorn, first senior vice president, digital banking division at SCB, said: “This year, our digital-banking operations continue to focus on being the ultimate platform for well-connected society.
“This is because we aim to comprehensively respond to our customers’ needs. Our vision is about operating as a large technology-driven and data-based platform within the next three years. Since the beginning of 2018, we have launched many new features for SCB Easy.”
These included digital lending services and an e-marketplace, he said.
