Lazada Express Thailand thrives on largest sortation centre in region

Lazada Thailand’s delivery arm Lazada Express Thailand (LEX) has inaugurated its Suksawat Sortation Centre, the most advanced and largest of all LEX facilities located in five Southeast Asian countries:Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Vietnam.

The new centre further strengthens Lazada’s eCommerce infrastructure, providing sellers greater access to efficient delivery services at lower costs while enhancing end-to-end consumer experience and just in time for the Lazada 12.12 shopping festival held from December 12 to 14.
Suttiroj Subsombat, Senior Manager at the Sortation and Retail Hub of Lazada Express Thailand said: “The Lazada Express Suksawat (SSW) Sortation Centre was established in response to the growing demands of Thailand’s flourishing eCommerce industry,".
"More than ever, sellers require greater access to sortation and distribution services that are seamlessly connected with the online shopping platform. This new facility makes the delivery of products quicker, more efficient, accurate, and easily trackable – allowing sellers to stay competitive in the scene and be able to handle large amounts of orders especially during high-volume seasons such as our 12.12 Grand Year End Sale”.
The Lazada Express SSW Sortation Centre, equipped with advance technology, occupies over 35,000 square metres of space. It is located in Suksawat district of Samut Prakarn povince.
Lazada Express Thailand operates Lazada’s last mile logistics – which includes picking up parcels directly from sellers or any of the 800-plus drop-off points across the nation, sending them to the sortation centre, and delivering them from the centre to the hands of customers.
The new sortation centre leverages innovative technology to improve efficiency and reduce costs, benefiting both sellers and consumers.
“Since starting up the Lazada Express Suksawat Sortation Centre, we have seen a 60 per cent increase in sorting capacity and over 20 per cent increase in number of parcels delivered, as of September year-on-year. We look forward to carrying this efficiency into our 12.12 shopping festival period to make it a great experience for sellers and shoppers,” said Suttiroj.
Lazada, Southeast Asia’s leading eCommerce platform, has the largest B2C logistics infrastructure with fulfillment centres across 17 Southeast Asian cities. Its warehouses, sorting centres, and digital technologies complement its partner network and last mile arrangements in each country.
This means it is able to hand over one million parcels to consumers each day, safely and seamlessly. Its new sortation centre in Suksawat commenced operations in September 2019 with shift-work employees, many of whom came from local communities.
