The Finance and Transport ministries will set up a joint working panel to help the national carrier Thai Airways International (THAI) to seek ways of reviving its operation, Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak said on Thursday (April 16).

Somkid joined other ministers in a meeting with THAI executives on Thursday to hear details made in the effort of stabilising the loss-making airline.
Finance Minister Uttama Savanayana said he is waiting for THAI to come up with a clearer rehabilitation plan before he can decide how much cash the airline needs to boost its liquidity.
Transport Minister Saksayam Chidchob said he expects THAI to come up with its rehab plan by next week.
THAI executives have reportedly asked the Finance and Transport ministries to approve the airline’s move to borrow Bt70 billion. This amount is based on the assumption that the outbreak will come to an end in October.
