Bt68 million set aside to study transport infrastructure in South

The Cabinet on Tuesday (September 15) agreed to earmark Bt68 million for the Office of Transport and Traffic Policy and Planning to study transport infrastructure development in the Southern Economic Corridor (SEC).

This study will focus on transport links between the Gulf of Thailand and Andaman Sea on either side of the country as well as the transport of goods at a macroeconomic level in the South.

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has said that he wants the SEC to be the second economic engine after the first engine, the Eastern Economic Corridor is up and running.
