CP Axtra Public Company Limited (CPAXT) has completed its acquisition of The Food Purveyor Sdn. Bhd., a Malaysian premium supermarket group, in a transaction valued at approximately THB13 billion.
CPAXT informed the Stock Exchange of Thailand that Lotuss Stores (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., its indirect wholly owned subsidiary, had acquired ordinary shares representing 100% of The Food Purveyor’s issued and paid-up share capital.
The transaction was completed on Tuesday (September 1, 2026), making The Food Purveyor an indirect subsidiary of CPAXT.
The acquisition forms part of CPAXT’s long-term strategy to expand across the region and strengthen its ambition to become a leading regional wholesale and retail operator.
CPAXT expects long-term synergies from the continued expansion of Malaysia’s premium supermarket segment, which the company views as a market with strong growth potential.
The company also plans to draw on The Food Purveyor’s broader product assortment, which it described as more diverse than that available through Lotus’s in Thailand, and consider adapting suitable product categories for its operations in other countries.
The Food Purveyor operates 50 premium supermarkets in Malaysia under five brands:
Together with approximately 70 Lotus’s stores in Malaysia, the acquisition expands CPAXT’s nationwide network to more than 120 outlets.
CPAXT expects the enlarged network to broaden its customer base and enable the group to serve consumers across a wider range of market segments.
