Thai Airways has announced a seven-day suspension of inbound and outbound cargo acceptance at its Suvarnabhumi Airport warehouse, running from September 30 to October 6, 2026, after flooding disrupted staffing and left a large backlog of goods.
Airports of Thailand reported that Thai Airways’ cargo operations division issued the temporary embargo notice on Tuesday (September 29).
Thai Airways said flooding continued to disrupt employees’ journeys to work, preventing some staff from reporting for duty as normal. The resulting manpower shortage had significantly affected warehouse operations, delaying both the handover of goods to customers and the transfer of shipments to scheduled flights.
Thai Airways said the suspension would allow the company to manage the disruption and allocate available staff and resources appropriately, while maintaining safety and operational efficiency within the warehouse.
Thai Airways said the aim was to restore normal, efficient cargo services as quickly as possible. The company apologised for the inconvenience and any resulting disruption, and thanked customers for their understanding and cooperation.
