National Artists, Thai puppetry and a four-course dinner feature at Thailand’s October 14 reception, where Nene Royal is set to perform.

  • Nene Royal is scheduled to perform for over 400 guests at Thailand’s official reception for the IMF–World Bank Group Annual Meetings on October 14, 2026.
  • The 16-year-old singer, who recently won America's Got Talent, will sing two or three songs as a special guest of the Prime Minister.
  • The performance will take place at Government House and is part of a broader effort to showcase Thai culture and the nation's readiness to host the event.

Nene Royal is set to perform for more than 400 guests at Thailand’s official reception for the International Monetary Fund (IMF)–World Bank Group Annual Meetings 2026 on Wednesday evening (October 14, 2026). The event will take place at Government House’s Santi Maitri Building, Prime Minister’s Office spokesman Ekkaphop Phianphiset said.

Ekkaphop said the government aims to generate positive publicity and showcase Thai culture to dignitaries and senior guests from around the world, using the reception to demonstrate Thailand’s readiness as a host.

Nene to perform two or three songs after Singapore show

Nene, 16, whose full name is Rattikarn “Praew” Amloy, is scheduled to sing two or three songs on her return from a performance in Singapore, Ekkaphop said. The Tourism Authority of Thailand has coordinated her participation.

Nene, who recently made history by winning America’s Got Talent, will appear as a special guest of Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul. The Thai rocker won season 21 of the US talent competition.

Thai performances and lights planned for Government House

The Government House reception programme includes performances by National Artists and music from the Sorkrao Symphony Orchestra, while decorative lighting at the Thai Khu Fah Building will create a designated photo spot, Ekkaphop said.

Ekkaphop said Anutin particularly liked the proposed lighting for the Thai Khu Fah Building after viewing images of the design.

The reception also includes a performance by the Joe Louis Traditional Thai Puppet Theatre.

The Blue Room in the Santi Maitri Building will host an exhibition of creative works by Thai young people as part of the reception’s cultural programme.

Ekkaphop said the Thai Meteorological Department had forecast clear skies and no rain for the evening of the October 14 reception.

Four-course Thai menu planned for IMF–World Bank reception

The IMF–World Bank reception will offer a four-course Thai set dinner reflecting Anutin’s emphasis on simplicity, authentic flavours and quality domestic ingredients, Ekkaphop said.

The reception’s starters will comprise chicken-filled cho muang dumplings, chicken satay and vegetarian ma ho. Tom yum prawn soup will follow as the second course.

Main-course choices at the reception will be massaman curry with tender braised Australian beef cheek or baked salmon. Both will be accompanied by brown rice identified in Ekkaphop’s account as coming from the Royal Project Foundation (Doi Kham).

The reception dinner will conclude with tub tim krob in coconut milk and seasonal fruit.
