Wall St ends lower

U.S. stocks closed down amid renewed concerns over the European debt crisis.The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 276.10 points, or 2.26 per cent at 11,955.01,

The S&P 500 dropped 31.79 points, or 2.47 per cent at 1,253.30. All key S&P sectors finished  in the red, led by materials and energy.

The Nasdaq composite slipped 52.74 points,or 1.93 per cent at 2,684.41.

Gold prices closed at USD 1,721.96 an ounce, while crude oil settled at USD92.68 a barrel.
