Japanese job fair for flood-hit workers

The Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) is joining hands with Thai agencies to host a job fair in January to provide opportunities for flood-affected workers, Labour Minister Phadermchai Sasomsap said Wednesday after a discussion with JETRO presiden

Phadermchai said the job fair would help the unemployed get access to vacant positions at Japanese companies in Thailand.
Setsuo said that those Japanese companies not hit by floods in the North and East were able to employ 11,000 workers.
He insisted that almost 100 per cent of Japanese investors would stay in Thailand rather than moving their investments to other countries.
JETRO also wanted Thailand to send more young workers for training in Japan, and fill vacancies care homes and health spas.
