The pre-trial review of the qualifications of Pheu Thai MP Jatuporn Promphan might take a while to complete, delaying the case's arrival at the Constitution Court, House Speaker Somsak Kiartsuranont said yesterday.
He said he had yet to receive a report from the Election Commission, which ruled to disqualify Jatuporn on grounds that he had questionable party membership when he registered his candidacy to contest the July 3 general election.
The EC had already forwarded its ruling on the Jatuporn case to the House Speaker’s Office, which is responsible for petitioning the high court for a mandatory review.
