Raids in 142 prisons across the nation since February have yielded about 3,000 cellphones as well as some narcotic substances, a senior official said yesterday.
Corrections Department deputy chief Kobkiat Kasiwat said every raid yielded about 20 to 30 mobile phones and that if these impromptu searches continued, inmates would no longer be able to smuggle prohibited items.
