“The evidence is unclear and insufficient to identify culprits,” DSI deputy director general Pravesana Mulpramook said on Friday, referring to the case known in Thai as the “lom chao” plot.
Pravesana was speaking after a meeting with a legal adviser of the Centre for the Resolution of the Emergency Situation (CRES), which initiated the legal proceedings in 2010 at the same time as the political disturbances involving the red shirts.
At the meeting, CRES adviser Colonel Wijarn Jodtaeng submitted a box of documents and eight compact discs, which he said provided additional evidence about the conspiracy.
Pravesana said, however, there was nothing new in the evidence and it shed no light on conspirators involved in the plot.
Key suspects in the case included fugitive former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra and Pheu Thai MP Jatuporn Promphan.
