Charter debate to get an extra day

House Speaker Somsak Kiartsuranont on Wednesday, the second day of charter debate, hinted that the session would likely be extended for an extra day and hoped the debate could be wrapped up by the Songkran Holiday on Friday.
“It is possible for the charter debate to include Thursday as well,” he said.
Somsak said the regular House session, scheduled to take place tomorrow, will be cancelled in order to pave way for the charter debate to reach a conclusion.
Tuesday the debate ended at 1.00 am but managed to pass the second reading of just three draft provisions of the charter amendment bill designed to form the Constitution Drafting Assembly.
