Thawil seeks help from Administrative Court

Thawil Pliensri, an adviser to the prime minister, on Monday filed a complaint with the Central Administrative Court and sought an order to reinstate himself as the secretary general of the National Security Council.

Thawil filed the complaint after the Merit System Protection Committee resolved to reject his earlier complaint against his transfer from the position of the NSC secretarygeneral to the position of PM’s adviser.
The court was informed his transfer was unfair because he was moved to pave way for former police chief Pol Gen Wichien Photephosri to be appointed to the position, thus allowing Pol Gen Priewphan Damapong to be promoted as the police commissioner general.
Thawil said in the complaint that he was not removed because of inefficiency in his work.
Thawil said he also asked the Administrative Court to review the decision of the Merit System Protection Committee, which he said had been made in an obscure manner.
Thawil said in the complaint that a subcommittee initially voted in favour of him against his transfer order but the full committee chaired by Sarawut Menasawet later overturned the decision of the subcommittee by voting again to endorse the transfer order.
Thawil asked the administrative court to issue an injunction against his transfer pending the court’s ruling.
