Somsak finalised his decision Friday despite the incompletion of the second reading for the charter amendment bill designed to form the CDA.
House secretary-general Pithoon Phumhiran will take charge of the selection process, such as the listing of organisations qualified to nominate candidates, Somsak’s aide Wattana Sengpairoh said.
“By designating Pithoon for the selection process, the concern for the House speaker and his Pheu Thai Party dominating the CDA nominations should be allayed,” Wattana said.
He said he expected the advanced preparations for the selection process would preempt any attempts to delay the CDA formation by litigating about the nominations.
