Earthquake hits New Zealand city of Christchurch
Wellington - A magnitude-5.2 earthquake hit the city of Christchurch in New Zealand on Friday afternoon.
Geological research organisation Geonet said the tremor was centred 10 kilometres east of the South Island city and 11 kilometres underground.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injury.
An earthquake on February 22, 2011, killed 185 people in Christchurch.//DPA
