US stocks closed slightly lower with Dow Jones Industrial Average losing 24.75 points, or 0.20 per cent, to close at 12,602.26&nbsp;as investors remain on&nbsp;sidelines&nbsp;awaiting&nbsp;outcome of&nbsp;European Union&#39;s debt crisis summit. 
	S&amp;P 500 index lost 2.81 points, or 0.21 per cent, to end at 1,329.04. 
	The Nasdaq composite declined 25.83 points, or 0.90 per cent, to finish at 2,849.49.
