Court says it has jurisdiction to try charter amendment case

The Constitution Court has defended its jurisdiction to rule on the constitutionality of charter amendment bill.
The court announced that it has power to try and make a ruling whether the amendments would be tantamount to efforts to overthrow the ruling system and Constitution or not.
The court said it has the power to order the halt of amendments if the amendments are deemed efforts to overthrow the ruling system or the Constitution itself.
